visiûne 06:32
I dream, awake, I dream, I dream. The lights perish, and they drink from the core that once, once bloomed, now withered, bare embers, lore. Deadly dwells their reign, sealed by scriptures, Disguised perdition; And I… I dream, I see, I dream, I weep, I see, I dream. Deceit unfurls, hands bound in chagrin, all shall decay; And I… In the shadows of their cunning, they’ll fill the cauldron with shame. I dream, awake In her toad, she will carry it and give ground to the graves. I dream, I dream And their illusion will linger for two thousand orbits ’round the sun. And I dream, I dream But far from the herd’s misled pathway, the myrtle’s roots in secrecy will grow. And I dream, I dream, I dream, I dream.

What other than dust are we? Sole motes swirl in line, Captured by the scythe In the aurora of time. While she, with her eternal face, Witnesses the tides Recede and grow For all shall come and go Companion! What life brings your letter today? Fatally bruised in no time Fatally tainted with rot The mirrors draped vainly in veils No more than bare trees are we, Weighed down by fleeting grace «Tand Tand ist das Gebild’ von Menschenhand» Companion! What life brings your letter today? Fatally bruised in no time Fatally tainted with rot The mirrors draped vainly in veils. Remember me.

about

recorded in late 2022 and early 2023 in Switzerland.

The third release of the Swiss moongazers completes the path followed so far – the debut EP "zessa" (2019) was dedicated to birth, emergence; the first full-length album "CYCLES" (2021) dealt with fertility, becoming and dying; Ombreine focuses on transience, the vanity of being and the destructive power of nature that slumbers within all of us. The discography so far thus reflects the trinity of becoming, being and passing away, which always lies simultaneously in everything. All is flux, nothing stays still.

This aspect is treated especially in "what lies beneath": The heaviness in the face of the only certainty of transformation and death, which we all – especially in modern times, but also since time immemorial –try to suppress with vanity to give our existence a raison d'être, resounds particularly in the song’s final exclamation "remember me", a memento mori.

"visiûne" (vision) thematises the suppressed femininity, which was already an important aspect on the previous release "CYCLES". The song tells of an archaic vision in which the dreamer foresees the change from the former praise to the increasing destruction and suppression of all female-attributed elements.

And finally, wazzara give a new shape to the Swiss folk song „Guggisberglied“ which was first mentioned in 1741 and is well-known for its unique, sad melody. It is originally scored in Bernese German (one of the Swiss German idioms) and offers a beautiful and great power in its dissonance, which in wazzara's version was a strong driving force for the composition and realization. The song tells of a lost, unfulfilled love symbolized by a mill wheel, standing still at the end.
